The sounds of ringing hammers and squelching steel can be heard throughout Bryn Shander nearly everyday of the week. Garn the Hammer spends most of the day practicing his craft, creating fine dwarven blades and sturdy armors that can withstand even the harshest conditions. Many of his armors are fur lined to help the adventuring types stay warm in the bitter cold of Icewind Dale.

Garn is not a business man, and he would not be nearly as successful if he had to run his storefront. Luckily for him, his sister Elza has a strong mind for business. He has always liked Hruna, the female dwarf that runs the ingots back from the Dwarven Valley, though he has never told her, as he is too embarrassed to say anything.

Elza keeps the business running, knowing full well her brother would drive away more people with his short attitude. She knows of his love for Hruna, and she approves, but she is terribly frustrated that neither of them will speak of it.
