Frigid waters crash violently against the jagged edges of a snow-packed island. Heavy winds whip across the sea, churning the dark waves and stealing what little warmth remains. Yet despite the gale, a thick blanket of fog clings stubbornly to the island.

As you draw closer, visibility dwindles. Navigation through the treacherous (waters/skies) becomes increasingly difficult. Dark shapes emerge from the mist, the shattered remains of forgotten ships, their hulls impaled upon towering sheets of ice.

Above the island's center, curtains of deep blue, pale green, and brilliant purple light ripple across the sky. Beneath their glow, a haunting invocation drifts through the storm, carrying over the crash of waves and the howl of the wind.

DM Notes

  • If the party is traveling by sea, they will eventually see the ruined dock
  • If the party is traveling by air, they will see a good landing point near Nass' body
    • If they try to travel too far by air, the fog will thicken and Aurils Roc wiil fly out to attack their mounts.

1. Ruined Dock

An impossibly large wooden structure juts out of the eastern edge of the island. The massive pier stands in stark contrast of the snowy white island, its jagged and broken docks like an ugly splinter in the side of the ice. 10 foot tall pine stairs lead from the edge of the pier up into the fog that covers the frozen island.

Next Event: Nass' Ghost

2. Shipwrecks: Optional

The remains of several ships are scattered in the ice floats around the island, their splintered hulls and broken masts jutting out of the snow like the bones of some long dead beast. The wreckage is a testament to the treacherous nature of these waters, and the dangers that lurk within its icy grasp.

3. Nass' Ghost

A ghostly figure of Nass Lantomir, a member of the Arcane Brotherhood, and the thief that stole Velynne's Professor Orb, floats helplessly above her frozen body. A spectral weasel with fluffy white fur darts in and out of the snow around her.

DM Notes

  • The body of Nass is laying face down in the snow, with Vellynne's professor orb clutched in her hand.
  • There is a piece of the professor orb that Solana has in Nass bag, which her ghost will allow Solana to take if she asks.
  • She was here to search for the Codicil of White, but was attacked by Frost Druids and was killed while fleeing from them.
    • "Said I needed to pass their tests, and when I failed the third one, they all attacked me."

4. Ice Statues

6. The Garden

A smooth, glistening path of ice leads into a hauntingly still garden, where the fog seems to lift slightly, hanging just over the trees. Small lights dance in and out of frozen statues, several tall conifer pines line the frigid pathway, a family of small rabits on hind end look out towards the pathway, while a magnificent buck holds his head high with pride. The small lights flit and flitter along the pathway, leading deeper into the islands center.

DM Notes

  • The garden was frozen in place by Auril as she was walking through the path one day
  • The lights are actually faeries that are trapped in the garden, they have been trying to escape, but cannot get through the magical barrier that Auril created (cannot be dispelled).
